Melinda Essig

Melinda Essig has recently tapped a vein of creative inspiration that stems from her interactions with the animal world. After years of fascination with nature documentaries, she began volunteering at the Schuylkill Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Ever since, her art has explored the boundaries across which humans and animals communicate. As the lead graphic designer at Design for Social Impact, Melinda employs her finely tuned eye as a tool for political organizing and communication. You can expect to find her engaged in interactive public art of the sort she has encountered at Burning Man and related festivals, honing her vegan cooking chops, and getting a remarkable number of flat tires during her bike rides around the city.
