Kathryn Sclavi is a Philadelphia based educator and artist. She is greatly influenced by the experiences she has had as a teaching artist in community settings, and has recently become interested in incorporating the collective experience of others into her personal work. She cites relational aesthetics and information charts as her major influences as of late. Along with helping run the HomeSkooled Gallery, Sclavi is also busy teaching art and creating new projects. The two pieces in this show are based on getting together with groups of women and discussing two topics that come up frequently: body image and men. Feel free to weigh in on these topics at any point by emailing: kathrynsclavi@homeskooledgallery.com.
