Do animals ever feel the disapproval of raised eyebrows? Are patterns just a pixel’s way of fitting in? Can peer pressure save the world? Peer Pressure investigates all these questions and more with the help of local artists including: Rodney Camarce, Lee Davis, Lynn Declemente, Megan Driscoll, Melinda Essig, Sarah Folger, Jill Lydon, Kathyrn Sclavi and Matthew Sochocki.
Don’t look up! Keep your eyes forward. Loo Bain, Lauren Bohy, Martin Campos, Liza Dolmetsch, Nicole Donnelly, Aaron Krolikowski, Mike Linskie, Kim Passidomo, Lance Pawling and Lauren Zalut have something to tell you. This is for your eyes only!
HomeSkooled Gallery celebrates its newest partnership with BckSeet Productions in a show celebrating performance and all the artists that have inspired our work. Toasty is a group-created installation comprised of a large tent/fort made out of blankets and sheets. This exhibition is a departure from our previous shows because the art exhibition will consist of the blanket fort, and inside, we will host interactive art activities. We hope that by congregating inside the fort to participate with one another, we will engender all kinds of artistic communication.
For the Fringe Festival, HomeSkooled encourages guests to break some rules and even some art. As a nomadic art space, HomeSkooled rejects the idea that galleries should be boring, judgmental, and hands-off. The Art Anti-Gallery installation allows everyone to experience the opposite - alter the work, talk loudly, even admit if you don’t like the art, the wine, or the blouse on the lady nearby.
Feet Active is a monthly event held at our local yoga and community space - Studio 34. It features yoga, followed by dance celebration, and cupcakes!
This month, HomeSkooled will add some of our interactive art flavor to the Feet Active mix. "Chance It!" will feature activities and art inspired by chance including: divination, zine making, face and body painting, and some surprising things that may even shape your destiny.
